Education Choice is one of the few organisations recognised and approved by theĀ PSA.
The Guarding Skills course covers manned guarding or static guarding; this is the most popular type of security in Ireland and covers Retail, Commercial and Industrial security.
The above code is the Fetac code, never do a course that is not Fetac recognized as it is not on the national education framework www.nqai.ie
The same applies for Door Security (Door Security Procedures code C10267) which covers security at clubs, bars, nightclubs and certain events.
The PSA stands for the Private Security Authority and
it monitors all Security Companies and Individuals in the Irish state.
You will also need to provide a 10 year verifiable criminal clearance to
the PSA, to determine that you meet their standard.
The application form is below; it is comprehensive but is mostly concerned
with your training and your police clearance documentation.
Advice:
- Make sure your training organisation is fully recognised, professional and that the trainer is competent.
- Always register your application at the post office before sending.
- Take a copy so you can prove to potential employers that you have applied for your license.
